History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when illithids swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. Since his mother passed away years ago, his father had doted on him, and he came to think her himself as special and better than other people in town. A notion that was reinforced by his attractiveness, a trait in which he easily excels the other men of his town. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to illithids demanding more tribute than usual.

History: From birth he was tutored by a cruel and relentless mentor. In his 13th year, while out on a day-trip, he returned to find his hometown burning and destroyed. He found his father impaled in their home, and his mother beheaded. He saw the man who walked out, and charged him in a blind rage. The man easily evaded and defeated him, leaving him to live broken and terrified. After a long history of fighting, Bernard and his spouse have recently divorced.

Motivation: To pay off his debts; and he feels threatened by others

He is the most sanctimonious self-righteous Human in existence. He will often invite strangers home for dinner and talk their ears off. He cares deeply for his spouse and does his best to make sure his guests look presentable.

History: Born to a poor family in the city he treasured whatever gifts he got. From there he went from mercenary job to mercenary job. He has drifted apart from his friends and has been working freelance. Each gave each other a copy of their signature nunchaku.
