History: Sold as a small child to a necromancer, Bertram was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. While studying, he fell in love. They married and had a son. He remains aloof and afraid to be himself due to all the ideals others have placed upon him.

History: He was always a brilliant, if unscrupulous mind. Aside from being a slave or a gladiator, there isn't much legitimate work for Humans in Raymond's homeland. Raymond decided to take the middle way and become a bodyguard. He left for the north, certain he would find work there.
