History: The child of northern immigrants he idolized his father. Since his father passed away years ago, his mother had doted on him, and he came to think her himself as special and better than other people in town. A notion that was reinforced by his attractiveness, a trait in which he easily excels the other men of his town. He left for the north, certain he would find work there.

Motivation: Someone believes him a fraud; and he has a rivalry with the church that dominates his actions

History: He was born into a rich family. He has chosen to use the inheritance that was left to him frivolously. Some 6 years later his spouse died after the birth of his son. Heartbroken, Ernest never married again. Instead he focused his life to raising his son whom he trained as his father had trained him before.
