History: Thomas was born the youngest of three triplets. He dropped out of school to support his sick father, and resented it. When his spouse passed he lost his only source of income but claims to his sons to still be retired.

Perhaps he's slightly insane, or otherwise so mentally alien to the rest of the world that he plain doesn't fit in. Unlike his family, who was content to work in a sleepy main town, he wanted to work in the city. He has been working here for the past few years.
