History: A powerful wizard made him what he is. Through the years after Ernest was born, his mother became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the east. History: He was born several months after his father was called into army service. Being born in the north, he completed his medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. He returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. He was a general practitioner in the north for years, until he, through no fault of his own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal he made his way east. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to dire rats demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: He has a rivalry with the Church that dominates his actions; and he wants revenge against dire rats

History: He was born in the west. Over the years he perfected his riding and shooting skills. He has built up a small fortune and can afford his own way.

Motivation: Regain custody of his son; and to reunite with his absent father

He is a bit of a macho man and will challenge people to random contests of strength and skill, and invite them to random hunting and fishing trip.

History: He was born to loving parents in a slum to the east. Brilliant and gifted he never wanted to apply himself. One night he noticed a nearby shooting star which he hiked out to see where it landed. It turned out to be an ancient artifact of some kind.
