History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when illithids swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. In his 17th year, his parents were killed by a illithids raid, leaving Godfrey alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Perhaps he's slightly insane, or otherwise so mentally alien to the rest of the world that he plain doesn't fit in. He now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.
