Description: A middle-aged man, he wears a black costume with the symbols of the four houses of cards on his torso, and is pretty ugly. His auburn hair is drawn into a tight pony tail with a skull scrunchie. His ears are large.

Personality: He is irascible and easily irritated. A true patriot, Roland would do anything for his country. He is fiercely protective of his fellow citizens and foreign allies.

History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when dire rats swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. He graduated from the Naval Academy and went to see the world at the rank of Ensign. He advanced relatively quickly due to his good work ethic, understanding of the chain of command, and natural leadership ability. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by dire rats. Roland was horrified and prayed that his mother was alright. However, he heard that his mother had died fighting off the dire rats.

Motivation: A deep hatred of dire rats; and revenge

History: Sold as a small child to a wizard, Patrick was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. He moved from fad to fad and when he turned 15 he discovered poetry. Unlike his family, who was content to work in a sleepy main town, he wanted to work in the city. He has been working here for the past few years.

History: Born in a small village he learned the ways of the warrior from his father. Like his father and his brother before him, after school he went straight into learning to become a Laborer. He has achieved small success as a Laborer.
