Motivation: Doesn't want to be a Blacksmith and was forced into it by his family; and he doesn't get along with people that don't share his tastes

When money was particularly tight he was walking through alleys when he overheard a Animal Trainer hiring some criminals to sabotage a competitor. He made his way to the other competitor and parlayed his knowledge into a job. He got away from his former life and has fallen to alcoholism.
