Personality: He takes his job very seriously, in part because he fears he cannot get a new one. He is a thrill seeker, he laughs at people and throws down challenges. He is highly competitive and combative.

History: Born in the east to a Navigator, Bertram learned a great deal about his father's area of expertise. When money was particularly tight he was walking through alleys when he overheard a Navigator hiring some criminals to sabotage a competitor. He made his way to the other competitor and parlayed his knowledge into a job. He has gone from town to town working and never settling down anywhere, but has fallen for a local Mayor. He hasn't told them the truth, but wants to settle down with them.
