History: Born to a pair of adventurers, Raymond grew up listening to his mother's many stories. He couldn't stand his childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with his mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. He eventually got the idea of being the protector of his homeland from reading books, and has made it his duty.

History: The child of eastern immigrants he idolized his father. In his 16th year, his parents were killed by a dire rats raid, leaving Thomas alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to dire rats demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: Revenge; and he wants revenge against dire rats

Personality: He is a hateful person. He taunts others and blames them for his problems. He is susceptible to being scared and is in actuality easily frightened. He likes to tell stories.

History: He is the product a well kept family trust fund and as such has never really known need. In his 20th year, while out on a day-trip, he returned to find his hometown burning and destroyed. He found his mother impaled in their home, and his father beheaded. He saw the man who walked out, and charged him in a blind rage. The man easily evaded and defeated him, leaving him to live broken and terrified. He now mingles about in high society.

Motivation: He has a rivalry with the Church that dominates his actions; and he is greedy

Personality: He fancies himself a trickster and likes to rely on his wits to carry the day. He cares for his older siblings and likes to be recognized by them. He believes the world needs to unite to get rid of brigands once and for all.

History: Sold as a small child to a slaver, Raymond was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. A freak accident while working with his Unemployed mother left him crippled. He has built up a small fortune and can afford his own way.

Motivation: His relatives are trying to arrange a marriage; and wants to raise his children well

Personality: He is irascible and easily irritated. He loves his children and doesn't want them to worry about him. He loves to share his music with anyone who is interested.

History: He was a bastard born out of an affair, and his father always resented and mistreated him for it out of spite. He was an athlete and attended two major summer competitions. He never won. He has since lost track of the people in his past.

Motivation: To reunite with his absent father.
