Personality: He is a pretentious jerk insisting that modern society is full of problems and should revert to a simpler time. He does suffer from mild PTSD, and the sight of goblins may trigger it at times.

History: His mother raised him in a mountain cabin. He took after his father in leading caravans. Because they were valued, his father taught him to defend himself. When his father died while fighting goblins, the young Bernard began to lead the lost caravan. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to goblins demanding more tribute than usual.
