History: Sold as a small child to a slaver, Diggory was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. He moved from fad to fad and when he turned 15 he discovered writing. He used his abilities to travel the world and help people.

Motivation: He has a rivalry with the Church that dominates his actions; and he is compelled to act according to his religious beliefs
