History: He was born on a small isolated farm. When he came of age, he joined a caravan that would eventually take him to the capital. He has gone from town to town working and never settling down anywhere, but has fallen for a local Slave Trader. He hasn't told them the truth, but wants to settle down with them.

Recently a tribe of dire rats attacked the village and all able bodies who could hold a blade were quickly armed and sent to the walls. History: Born in the west to a Ruler, Roland learned a great deal about his father's area of expertise. Before the accident, he was one of the most outspoken anti-Human activists. He was mortally wounded, saved by a kind and fast-acting Human doctor. He has became unsatisfied with his lot in life, and decided to take up adventuring.

Motivation: He has a rivalry with the Church that dominates his actions; and wants to open a new tavern

He found a children's book about a Human Warrior who fought for good and justice and never realised it was just a child's story. He modeled his life after the story, seeing himself destined a hero. He has drifted apart from his friends and has been working freelance. Each gave each other a copy of their signature scimitar.
