It turned out to be an ancient artifact of some kind. He has done his darndest to repair it but it is currently non-functional.

His respect, as difficult as one would find it to earn, is unwavering; those who more than prove themselves to him, a bar set well above any reasonable standard, he tolerates in varying degrees. Though less modest and more hasty in his reactions to snap at those who irritate him, Miles is combative with any and all who dare try his patience in the slightest.

History: Born in the north his family was never financially stable. There was a wharf not far from home where he often wandered off to fish. He struck the Ploughman job and began his own company from there.

Personality: Deceptive and manipulative this eastern guy figured out how to best use his charms to convince people to do what he wants. Around other people he will do his best to conceal his emotions and appear jolly.

History: Sold as a small child to a brothel owner, Cory was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. His mother was supposedly a charlatan fortune teller, but he insists his mother was legitimate. He now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.

Motivation: His religion dominates his actions; and he is compelled to act according to his religious beliefs

History: Tim was born to in a poor docking district. He spent his early days working in the same smith shop his mother was employed at, doing general labor. His homeland was ravaged by war and he spent much of his life rebuilding it. He has taken up work as a Glassblower and fed both sides of the war false information with the goal of increasing casualties.
