Adam's mother didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.

His mother taught him the rudiments of the Carter arts, while his father instructed him in etiquette, music and courtly manner. He worked as a nervous Carter and found it very stressful. He's also a talented Hunter, but doesn't like to broadcast it.
