History: He was born the only child of a wealthy merchant. Through the years after Hugh was born, his father became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the west. Hugh's father didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

History: Born in the west to a Slave Trader, Norman learned a great deal about his mother's area of expertise. When he came of age, he joined a caravan that would eventually take him to the capital.
