History: He is the product a well kept family trust fund and as such has never really known need. He has chosen to use the inheritance that was left to him frivolously. He's since become an addict/alcoholic.

Motivation: He doesn't get along with people that don't share his tastes; and he feels the way he acts is they only way to get by in the world

Through the years after Balimaar was born, his mother became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the south. Balimaar's mother didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.
