It turned out to be an ancient artifact of some kind. He has done his darndest to repair it but it is currently non-functional.

Personality: He is not truly malevolent, but he is obsessed with painting. He constantly tries to fill his life with painting. He does not mind isolation but does not hate company and attempts to receive them as best as possible.

History: He is the product a well kept family trust fund and as such has never really known need. He inherited a moderately successful company from his father. Under his leadership it has flourished, and using capital from his venture he effectively owns an entire region. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by gnolls. Rolf was horrified and prayed that his mother was alright. History: He was born in a small mountains village. He was an apprentice working in his mother's forge. He bought a pickaxe and has really upped his game hunting, due to his understanding of decoy and ambush.
