History: He was born a particularly ugly child, much to the horror of his parents. In his 10th year, his parents were killed by a giants raid, leaving Simon alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. Unlike his family, who was content to work in a sleepy main town, he wanted to work in the city. He has been working here for the past few years.

Motivation: His name or reputation has been wronged in the past by giants, and he desires to right it; and to find somewhere to settle down
