His family became saddled with debt trying to care for his infirm mother. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by giants. Kody was horrified and prayed that his father was alright. However, he heard that his father had died fighting off the giants.

History: His parents moved while he was still in utero so he is the first generation to be born here. His mother took him hunting and taught him how to get in the mind of other creatures. He left for the west, certain he would find work there.
