History: Gerard hails from a village terrorized by illithids. His father was very strict, and drilled into him lessons on being the perfect gentleman. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by illithids. Gerard was horrified and prayed that his mother was alright. However, he heard that his mother had died fighting off the illithids.

Motivation: Nothing but the best is good enough for him; and his name or reputation has been wronged in the past by illithids, and he desires to right it

History: He comes from a rich northern family. His spouse left him for another, whom he beat to an almost bloody pulp. He did not win them back, but he came to a realization. To get what you want from life, you must take it. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.
