History: The child of a Tanner, who enjoyed hunting, Chad was taken on many hunting expeditions. At a young age his mother died while driving off some dire rats. His father being the stubborn sort decided to stay and helped train him in shortspear use. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to dire rats demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: He made a deal with a demon which lead to his current lot in life, and he's becoming increasingly nervous about it; and he wants revenge against dire rats

History: He was born blind and as such lacked many opportunities for work. He couldn't stand his childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with his mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. He was granted arcane powers by his dying sister.

His partner is his best friend in the world. The two are very close despite being more or less each other's opposites. He will pursue extreme courses of action in the short term, confident that they cannot fail.

History: Born in the south his family was never financially stable. In his 14th year, his parents were killed by a orcs raid, leaving Gerald alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to orcs demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: Someone believes him a fraud; and several ex partners dislike his way of doing things and want revenge
