Motivation: His name or reputation has been wronged in the past by orcs, and he desires to right it; and many orcs want him driven away

Personality: Gerard is depressed about a lot of things. He tends to be a nihilist. He dislikes loud distracting noises, but is overall hospitable. His biggest love is that of knowledge and as such will purchase any books or pay to listen to tales that travelers might have.

History: Gerard lived on a farm with his father, near the main road leading to a nearby town. From there he went from mercenary job to mercenary job. When he grew older, he became a bit more civilized, usually hanging around bars and taverns. He began work as a mercenary for hire. He would embark on any mission as long as the price was right.
