His father being the stubborn sort decided to stay and helped train him in axe use. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to drow demanding more tribute than usual.

He is used to getting what he wants. In part because he is a meticulous planner.

History: He was born in a small island village. William liked to wander the woods near his home when he was young, something he still likes to do at least once a week. He never liked modest clothing or shoes, so he would wander the woods barefoot and lightly dressed, and he developed a good sense of balance and learned how to climb and swim well. He eventually got the idea of being the protector of his homeland from reading books, and has made it his duty.
