Personality: He can speak with the dead, and doesn't see much difference between the living and dead. He keeps company with all sorts of races to see how they think and challenge minds foreign to his own.

History: A child with a great deal of poetry talent his parents made sure he got the chance to thrive. Because his father participated in the massacre of their homeland, giants burned their ranch to the ground and forced them out. He was preparing to flee to the south, but the outbreak of war prevented him and his mother from journeying south to reunite his family. He moves from town to town, unable to find a place to settle.

Motivation: Many giants want him driven away; and several ex partners dislike his way of doing things and want revenge

Description: His right thumb is blackened and bruised, but otherwise he appears quite healthy. He wears an entirely brown suit with tan socks and a vest with buckled shoes. He keeps his silver hair in a pixie cut. His voice is smooth and creepy, always level, but somehow just slightly unnerving.

Personality: He is quiet and anti-social and can barely make it a few minutes in conversation before his hampering stammer kicks in. He invites people to come help in his community garden.

History: Born to a pair of adventurers, Geoffrey grew up listening to his mother's many stories. He made a point of taking high paying jobs and getting most of it up front. He remains aloof and afraid to be himself due to all the ideals others have placed upon him.

Motivation: He is terrified, and will act out of fear; and he's looking for his big break

Description: This man is unhealthily muscled, almost every single one of his veins is visible when he is not flexing. His shirts and pants tend to be short and undersized for him due to the difficulty of finding a good tailor. His red hair is cut short. He is very pretty but has cold, dead eyes.

Personality: He hates dire rats. He views them as having robbed his home of its proper glory. His brief stint in the army gave him the idea he was invincible and that he is the toughest man alive.

History: Trained by his father for as long as he can remember he had it drilled in his head that it was his duty to serve his country. He graduated from the Naval Academy and went to see the world at the rank of Ensign. He advanced relatively quickly due to his good work ethic, understanding of the chain of command, and natural leadership ability. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to dire rats demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: Revenge.

Personality: He is happy with his job as a Bookbinder. He turns his eye from what people do, preferring to live and let live. Despite his manner, he is extremely passionate and proud of his job, and he prides himself in being thorough and never missing a detail.

History: He served in the navy to pay for his family's outstanding loans. He was an adventurer many years ago and he formed a blood bond with his Human companion (his 'brother'). He now owns his own business.

Personality: A grumpy guy he will invite people to lunch so he can critique them. Yet he still seems generally likeable, like a lovable grump. He also is a firm believer in the manly ideal.

History: He was raised in a white middle class family as the only child. Through the years after Theobald was born, his father became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the south. Theobald's father didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. After a long history of fighting, Theobald and his spouse have recently divorced.

Motivation: To find somewhere to settle down; and to prove his worth to the world
