History: Heir to a fortune, his parents put a great deal of effort into curing his disease. A freak accident while working with his Dyer father left him crippled. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

Description: An older man who has the majority of his body covered in plate, he is not a threatening figure. He has styled his red hair well, parting it to the right. His blue eyes dart from person to person to random spaces in the air.

Personality: Soft-spoken and well mannered, he has an amazing amount of patience and a slow boiling temper. He will often invite strangers home for dinner and talk their ears off. He cares deeply for his spouse and does his best to make sure his guests look presentable.

History: He was born blind and as such lacked many opportunities for work. At a young age he wooed the heart of his future spouse and the two had a long relationship before they wed. Some 2 years later his spouse died after the birth of his son. Heartbroken, Shane never married again. Instead he focused his life to raising his son whom he trained as his father had trained him before.

History: He was born to loving parents in a slum to the west. When money was particularly tight he was walking through alleys when he overheard a Bookbinder hiring some criminals to sabotage a competitor. He made his way to the other competitor and parlayed his knowledge into a job. He eventually got the idea of being the protector of his homeland from reading books, and has made it his duty.

Motivation: To get a good night's sleep; and several ex partners dislike his way of doing things and want revenge

His partner is his best friend in the world. The two are very close despite being more or less each other's opposites. He dislikes loud distracting noises, but is overall hospitable. His biggest love is that of knowledge and as such will purchase any books or pay to listen to tales that travelers might have.
