The family's rival house kidnapped his sister with the intent that his sister marry their son to gain control of contested properties. By chance he met his sister recently and the two have been together since.

Motivation: Marry his sister to traveling adventurers; and doesn't want to be a mercenary and was forced into it by his family

History: He was born to a pair of big game hunters, but was frequently ill as a child. In his 18th year, his parents were killed by a brigands raid, leaving Tim alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He hopes to save up enough money to one day pay a cleric to cure him.

Motivation: His name or reputation has been wronged in the past by brigands, and he desires to right it; and he doesn't get along with people that don't share his tastes
