History: Born in the west to a Dyer, Theodoric learned a great deal about his father's area of expertise. He helped his father out around the business and became quite the natural. Recently a tribe of gnolls attacked the village and all able bodies who could hold a blade were quickly armed and sent to the walls. Theodoric fought at the side of some of the regions greatest heroes but was never overshadowed.

History: The child of southern immigrants he idolized his father. His childhood dream was to be a Barkeep, but he was a colossal failure. He has drifted apart from his friends and has been working freelance. Each gave each other a copy of their signature pickaxe.

History: Reynard hails from a village terrorized by gnolls. His first spouse was a Servant, they had one son, but his spouse won total custody. Without his spouse to temper him he grew out of control. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to gnolls demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: To fight the greatest warriors and to fight in the greatest battles ever; and his spouse's relatives view him with great suspicion

History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when illithids swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. In his 17th year, his parents were killed by a illithids raid, leaving Frederick alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He moves from town to town, unable to find a place to settle.

Motivation: He has a rivalry with the Church that dominates his actions; and many illithids want him driven away
