History: Nicholas hails from a village terrorized by gnolls. A gypsy cursed him at a young age, leading to his ugly appearance. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to gnolls demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: His name or reputation has been wronged in the past by gnolls, and he desires to right it.
