History: Adelard hails from a village terrorized by dire rats. He has chosen to use the inheritance that was left to him frivolously. He has been saving his money to try and buy his brother's freedom.

Motivation: Doesn't want to be a Carter and was forced into it by his family; and many dire rats want him driven away

Personality: He considers himself the perfect gentleman. He makes a point to always show proper etiquette and frequently critiques the etiquette of others. He is vehemently anti-magic. All of it is evil and corrupting in his opinion.

History: He was raised in a white middle class family as the only child. He took every job he could get his hands on, but the opportunities for Humans in the east were limited. Unlike his family, who was content to work in a sleepy main town, he wanted to work in the city. He has been working here for the past few years.
