History: When he was but 5 years old his parents immigrated from the north. While studying, he fell in love. They married and had a daughter. He has since married many spouses, only to have them die. He claims to not be responsible.

Personality: He is unhospitable to his core. His small house has "No trespassing" Signs all over it. The war was a terrible time for him, and Roland does not often speak of it. When he does, he does so with a strained expression and tears in his eyes.

History: He was a bastard born out of an affair, and his mother always resented and mistreated him for it out of spite. Through the years after Roland was born, his mother became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the north. Roland's mother didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.
