His family spent the next few days looking for him, and could only assume he was dead when it came time to leave. The family never returned to the forest due to the painful memories there. Manfred took refuge in the ruined castle and found the beat up bastard sword and armor he uses now. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

History: He was born in the south, but his parents moved at a very young age to the east. He took every job he could get his hands on, but the opportunities for Humans in the south were limited. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Motivation: He is wracked by social anxiety.

His family became saddled with debt trying to care for his infirm father. He routinely visits covens of witches but complains that many are fraudulent and lack true knowledge of magic.
