History: He was raised in a white middle class family as the only child. His childhood dream was to be a Soapmaker, but he was a colossal failure. He has gone from town to town till he finds a spot where he can set up a sustainable business.

Motivation: To be a Soapmaker again; and an old rival family wants him found

He was regularly beaten by his father, who blamed him for driving them apart. He was granted arcane powers by his dying sister.
