His father had died from a severe disease that was unknown to the village doctor. Ernest was heart-stricken from the event, and his mother started working long hours to provde for them. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to drow demanding more tribute than usual.

History: He was born to loving parents in a slum to the east. His parents divorced when he was young, and his mother gained full cudstody. He was regularly beaten by his mother, who blamed him for driving them apart. He's also a talented Bookbinder, but doesn't like to broadcast it.

Personality: He has a massive crush on the younger sibling of the Painter who has hired him part-time. His temper goes off on the smallest of things. He tends to lash out at those around him.

History: A powerful necromancer made him what he is. He couldn't stand his childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with his mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. After a long history of fighting, Rolf and his spouse have recently divorced.

Motivation: To settle down with his crush.
