Personality: He can speak with the recently deceased. He is a bit of a macho man and will challenge people to random contests of strength and skill, and invite them to random hunting and fishing trip.

History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when illithids swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. At a young age his mother died while driving off some illithids. His father being the stubborn sort decided to stay and helped train him in rapier use. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by illithids. Gerald was horrified and prayed that his father was alright. However, he heard that his father had died fighting off the illithids.

Motivation: His name or reputation has been wronged in the past by illithids, and he desires to right it.

History: Trained by his father for as long as he can remember he had it drilled in his head that it was his duty to serve his country. He moved from fad to fad and when he turned 15 he discovered writing. When his spouse passed he lost his only source of income but claims to his sons to still be retired.

He began using that to his advantage selling useless wares at inflated prices. Unlike his family, who was content to work in a sleepy main town, he wanted to work in the city. He has been working here for the past few years.
