The man easily evaded and defeated him, leaving him to live broken and terrified. Some 4 years later his spouse died after the birth of his son. Heartbroken, Thomas never married again. Instead he focused his life to raising his son whom he trained as his mother had trained him before.

History: He grew up in a lower middle class home, but living comfortably wasn't enough. At a young age he wooed the heart of his future spouse and the two had a long relationship before they wed. He's since become an addict/alcoholic.

History: Sold as a small child to a necromancer, Anselm was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. He was part of a huge silver rush, which was taken over by a mining company. The company confiscated a lot of silver, but the shipment was lost. He is searching for what he claims is his rightful reward.

Motivation: Doesn't want to be a Courier and was forced into it by his family; and marry his sister to traveling adventurers
