History: Roland hails from a village terrorized by illithids. He took after his mother in leading caravans. Because they were valued, his mother taught him to defend himself. When his mother died while fighting illithids, the young Roland began to lead the lost caravan. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to illithids demanding more tribute than usual.

Personality: He tends to agree with only himself unless someone else's opinion sounds like he can profit from it. He tries to control his temper but he can't always stop himself from what he feels what must be done. Animals are drawn to him, and he is able to talk to them.

History: He was born to a pair of big game hunters, but was frequently ill as a child. Ostracized due to the arcane powers of his oldest sister, he and his siblings struck out on their own. In the process these unassuming Humans became a terror of the countryside. He was granted arcane powers by his dying sister.

Under his leadership it has flourished, and using capital from his venture he effectively owns an entire region. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.
