History: He was born blind and as such lacked many opportunities for work. He was one of the best in his class, and was picked up by his current employer. He quickly showed his capability and was soon promoted to a head role. He struck the Fortune-teller job and began his own company from there.

Motivation: He is terrified, and will act out of fear; and balancing his hectic life and new fortune-teller responsibilities is difficult

Through the years after Manfred was born, his mother became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the south. Manfred's mother didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone.
