History: Ernest hails from a village terrorized by brigands. His mother had invested heavily in several trade routes and wanted him to inherit them. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to brigands demanding more tribute than usual.

History: He was born in the north. He has had some formal singing training, and achieved minor success. Some 10 years later his spouse died after the birth of his son.
