It turned out to be an ancient artifact of some kind. He has done his darndest to repair it but it is currently non-functional.

Personality: He has a very dry and sarcastic sense of humor. He is not one for noise or eating so much, which is in direct contrast with his big mouthed big gutted partner. His partner is his best friend in the world. The two are very close despite being more or less each other's opposites. He is a logical person and will generally grow upset if things defy logic and science.

History: He was born a particularly ugly child, much to the horror of his parents. In his formative years he discovered how persuasive he was. He began using that to his advantage selling useless wares at inflated prices. He now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.

Personality: He barks his statements quickly and with little fuss. He prefers small words and is at his heart utilitarian. He is afraid of women and trembles around them

History: Born in the east to a Mercenary, William learned a great deal about his mother's area of expertise. He was an apprentice working in his mother's forge. He has never given up on his dancing dream.

Motivation: A strong sense of loyalty to Human people; and to be a bowyer again

History: Anselm was born in the west. At a young age he loved to build and create. Since his father passed away years ago, his mother had doted on him, and he came to think her himself as special and better than other people in town. A notion that was reinforced by his attractiveness, a trait in which he easily excels the other men of his town. Since then, he has sought to make the best of life.

History: Born the oldest of a large religious western family, he was no stranger to responsibility. His mother had invested heavily in several trade routes and wanted him to inherit them. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to drow demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: Balancing his hectic life and new Navigator responsibilities is difficult; and he wants revenge against drow
