Description: He is a mite stocky and wears a simple burlap shirt and baggy pants. He conceals his hand crossbow with his veritable burlap sack of a shirt. He wears a wide-brimmed hat to hide his balding. Judging by the bloodshot nature of his eyes and the massive bags underneath them one would imagine he has not slept for days.

Personality: Always inclined to offer people food he seems plenty friendly. He can see the true alignment of people by looking at them, and uses this to pass judgement.

History: Born the oldest of a large religious northern family, he was no stranger to responsibility. When he came of age, he joined a caravan that would eventually take him to the capital. He would practice along the way and, when he arrived, be apprenticed to a Layabout. He ran away from his former home and has been making his living as a Layabout for the past few years.

Motivation: His religion dominates his actions.

Description: This man stands a little under 5'7" and is a bit bulky. He is very muscular particularly in the legs. He dresses in green turtlenecks beneath a brown coat with black slacks. His hair is black and very short. He wears large thick round spectacles.

Personality: He considers himself a man of culture and sophistication. He likes a good challenge to his wits. Energy wise he seems alert and responsive.

History: Arnold lived on a farm with his mother, near the main road leading to a nearby town. Before the accident, he was one of the most outspoken anti-Human activists. He was mortally wounded, saved by a kind and fast-acting Human doctor. He has been saving his money to try and buy his sister's freedom.

Motivation: Someone believes him a fraud; and doesn't want to be a detective and was forced into it by his family

Description: He tends to wear a heavy leather apron. Coupled with his rolled up shirt sleeves this gives him a very relaxed look. He wears a wide-brimmed hat to hide his balding. His eyes are a pleasant brown.

Personality: He has a very dry and sarcastic sense of humor. He is not one for noise or eating so much, which is in direct contrast with his big mouthed big gutted partner. His partner is his best friend in the world. The two are very close despite being more or less each other's opposites. He does not mind isolation but does not hate company and attempts to receive them as best as possible.

History: The child of a Mortician, who enjoyed hunting, Lance was taken on many hunting expeditions. He made a point of taking high paying jobs and getting most of it up front. He's also a talented Mortician, but doesn't like to broadcast it.

Motivation: His name or reputation has been wronged in the past by gnolls, and he desires to right it; and to be a mortician again

Description: This younger middle-aged man is wearing colorful clothing, dressed as a Adventurer, and a wedding ring on his right hand. He sports a flattop hair cut. His eyes are likewise blue.

Personality: Frederick is a sociable creature first and foremost. He loves to listen to people at length before talking their ear off. He can carry on conversation for hours and will do so. He is obsessed with finding treasure.

History: He was born in the south. He moved from fad to fad and when he turned 15 he discovered singing. He left for the south, certain he would find work there.

Motivation: He wants random interesting trinkets and junk, hates to throw anything away; and wishes to resurrect an old love

When his mother died while fighting brigands, the young Theobald began to lead the lost caravan. He has been a successful dealer in antiques buying low and selling high.
