History: Don was born to in a poor docking district. He spent his early days working in the same smith shop his father was employed at, doing general labor. He was one of the best in his class, and was picked up by his current employer. He quickly showed his capability and was soon promoted to a head role. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Motivation: He's looking for his big break; and a need for knowledge about a nearby landmark

Personality: Always inclined to offer people food he seems plenty friendly. He is vehemently anti-magic. All of it is evil and corrupting in his opinion.

History: Roland hails from a village terrorized by gnolls. At a young age he wooed the heart of his future spouse and the two had a long relationship before they wed. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to gnolls demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: His name or reputation has been wronged in the past by gnolls, and he desires to right it; and wishes to resurrect an old love

History: His history is one of pain. He was disowned by both parents and raised among the slaves his parents kept. In his 13th year, while out on a day-trip, he returned to find his hometown burning and destroyed. He found his father impaled in their home, and his mother beheaded. He saw the man who walked out, and charged him in a blind rage. The man easily evaded and defeated him, leaving him to live broken and terrified. He has set out to sabotage the competition.
