A serious injury left his father unemployed and in need of constant care. His family became saddled with debt trying to care for his infirm father. He has drifted from career to career and currently works as a Guard.

Motivation: To be a Crown-heir again; and he made a deal with a demon which lead to his current lot in life, and he's becoming increasingly nervous about it

History: He comes from a rich western family. As a young adult he joined a group advocating for an improvement in Human conditions. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

Motivation: He is compelled to act according to his religious beliefs; and money/treasure
