History: Dean was born to in a poor docking district. He spent his early days working in the same smith shop his father was employed at, doing general labor. When money was particularly tight he was walking through alleys when he overheard a Baker hiring some criminals to sabotage a competitor. He made his way to the other competitor and parlayed his knowledge into a job. He used his abilities to trick people and travel the world for free.

History: He was raised in a white middle class family as the only child. He couldn't stand his childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with his mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. Unlike his family, who was content to work in a sleepy main town, he wanted to work in the city. He has been working here for the past few years.
