Personality: He snorts whenever he laughs or is feeling confident. He is obsessed with a lost civilization.

History: He was born with several neurological imbalances, which makes sleep difficult for him. It may also be what makes him so good at details. He was an adventurer many years ago and he formed a blood bond with his Human companion (his 'brother'). Some 8 years later his spouse died after the birth of his son. Heartbroken, Alex never married again. Instead he focused his life to raising his son whom he trained as his mother had trained him before.

Motivation: His name or reputation has been wronged in the past by dire rats, and he desires to right it; and to reunite with his old friends
