He modeled his life after the story, seeing himself destined a hero. After a long history of fighting, Gerard and his spouse have recently divorced.

History: He was a bastard born out of an affair, and his father always resented and mistreated him for it out of spite. His parents divorced when he was young, and his father gained full cudstody. He was regularly beaten by his father, who blamed him for driving them apart. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.
