History: He was a bastard born out of an affair, and his mother always resented and mistreated him for it out of spite. His mother had invested heavily in several trade routes and wanted him to inherit them. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

Personality: He hates illithids. He views them as having robbed his home of its proper glory. He does suffer from mild PTSD, and the sight of illithids may trigger it at times.

History: He was born several months after his father was called into army service. When John reached his early adolescence his Human father passed away.
