Personality: He takes his job very seriously, in part because he fears he cannot get a new one. He does not believe in violence as a means to an end. He is a dedicated Adventurer but believes his peers are too gung-ho.

History: He was born several months after his father was called into army service. When he came of age, he joined a caravan that would eventually take him to the capital. He would practice along the way and, when he arrived, be apprenticed to a Adventurer. Some 2 years later his spouse died after the birth of his daughter. Heartbroken, Gerard never married again. Instead he focused his life to raising his daughter whom he trained as his father had trained him before.

Motivation: He wants to meet his childhood hero; and balancing his hectic life and new adventurer responsibilities is difficult
