History: He was born into a rich family. When the war came and ruined his parents he was left adrift. He was a hard man then and has only learned to fight more as time goes on. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.

History: He grew up in a lower middle class home, but living comfortably wasn't enough. Being born in the east, he completed his medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. He returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. He was a general practitioner in the east for years, until he, through no fault of his own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal he made his way west. He moves from town to town, unable to find a place to settle.

He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

Motivation: Revenge; and his name or reputation has been wronged in the past by brigands, and he desires to right it
