History: He was a bastard born out of an affair, and his mother always resented and mistreated him for it out of spite. When the war came and ruined his parents he was left adrift. He was a hard man then and has only learned to fight more as time goes on. He has been saving his money to try and buy his sister's freedom.

Personality: Manfred wants to be seen as a stoic, levelheaded, noble Adept, so he tries to act the part. He does a good job, for the most part... Manfred enjoys physical pleasures, and is well known for his love of warm baths in the hot springs near the town.

History: Born the oldest of a large religious eastern family, he was no stranger to responsibility. He went to a religious school and was inspired by the priests there in charitable deeds. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Motivation: He is compelled to act according to his religious beliefs; and retire the richest man in the east
